Fútbol Libre

Copies are illegal and can carry malwareChecked 18 October 2026

Fútbol Libre, Spanish for free football, is a streaming name popular in Argentina, Peru and Mexico for unlicensed Liga Profesional, Copa Libertadores and European matches. Court blocks and a 2024 police raid in Argentina took out dozens of its domains, yet copies keep appearing on new ones.

Is Fútbol Libre Still Working?

The name never stopped, but no single site counts as the original. Fútbol Libre has always lived on dozens of domains with no proven link to one another. The biggest right now is futbollibre.mx, at about 2.4 million visits a month, nearly all from Mexico. futbollibre.futbol, once the giant, slid from about 7.9 million visits in May 2025 to about 220,000 by September 2026.

Argentina and Peru have spent years knocking addresses out. Peru's Indecopi blocked futbollibre.net during the 2022 World Cup, and in February 2023 the same domain topped Argentina's first dynamic blocking order. In July 2024, days before the Copa América final, a raid in Mendoza led to more than 50 Fútbol Libre and Megadeportes domains being blocked and to the arrest of a suspect known as Kahsad. A month later Peru blocked futbollibre.pe at LaLiga's request. Clones such as Libre Fútbol and Pelota Libre filled each gap. Our own daily test of every address sets the statuses you see above.

What Happened to Fútbol Libre

  1. Peru's Indecopi ordered the blocking of 51 pirate sites streaming the Qatar World Cup, including futbollibre.net.
  2. An Argentine federal court issued the country's first dynamic blocking order, requiring ISPs registered with ENACOM to block 30 streaming domains, with futbollibre.net first on the list.
  3. After a raid in Mendoza, Argentine authorities ordered ISPs to block more than 50 domains of the Futbol Libre and Megadeportes brands and arrested a suspect using the alias 'Kahsad'.
  4. Indecopi granted LaLiga, via Alianza, interim measures to block six sites in Peru, including futbollibre.pe.

Is Fútbol Libre Safe?

Fútbol Libre is not one site but a label anyone can stick on a page or an APK, so nobody stands behind it. Many fans in Argentina, Peru and Mexico meet it as an Android app passed around outside Google Play, and an app gets far more access to a phone than a web page does.

The everyday version is only noisy: ads that jump to new tabs, play buttons that lead nowhere, offers to install yet another app, adult banners. The serious version looks like this:

  • an APK carrying malware that keeps running after you close it
  • notification access that becomes a nonstop feed of bogus warnings
  • a "free premium" form that collects your card number
  • a request for a selfie holding your ID or passport

If you installed a Fútbol Libre APK, uninstall it, check which apps hold accessibility or device admin rights in your phone settings, and change your Google password.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Fútbol Libre?

Fútbol Libre is a brand used by many sites and APK apps that stream matches without the rights. Its audience is in Argentina, Peru, Mexico and other Spanish-speaking countries, and it is best known for the Argentine Liga Profesional, the Copa Libertadores and Argentina's national team. Peru blocked its domains in 2022 and 2024, and Argentina did the same in 2023 and 2024. It still runs on many unrelated domains, the largest of which is futbollibre.mx.

Who was arrested over Fútbol Libre?

After a raid in Mendoza in July 2024, Argentine authorities arrested a suspect using the alias Kahsad and ordered more than 50 domains blocked. Local media called him the creator of Fútbol Libre. The anti-piracy group Alianza and later reports tied him mainly to Megadeportes and to supplying streams to other pirate operators.

Why does Fútbol Libre keep going down?

Rights holders in Argentina and Peru get its domains blocked through the courts and Indecopi, often right before big matches, as with the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 Copa América final. Each order knocks out a handful of addresses, and copies come back on new endings like .mx, .pe or .futbol.

Is Fútbol Libre legal?

No league or broadcaster gave it permission to show Argentine or Peruvian football, and that gap is what judges keep acting on. Argentina's first dynamic blocking order, in February 2023, put futbollibre.net first among 30 domains and required every provider registered with ENACOM to block them, including new copies.

Is there a Fútbol Libre app?

Several APKs carry the name, all built by unknown people and shared outside Google Play. None is linked to a known team, and installing one gives a stranger a foothold on your phone. The streaming services in our watch row ship their own apps through the regular stores.

Is Pelota Libre the same as Fútbol Libre?

Not exactly. Pelota Libre is a separate clone that Argentine media described as Fútbol Libre's successor after the 2024 blocks. Libre Fútbol, on addresses like librefutbol.net and librefutboltv.net, is another. They share the idea and the audience, not a known owner.

Where do I find Argentine league and Libertadores games instead?

Open our Liga Profesional and Copa Libertadores pages to see who carries them where you live. Fans in Mexico will find the domestic league laid out the same way on the Liga MX page.

What happened to futbollibre.net?

It was the brand's best-known address and its most blocked. Peru's Indecopi included it among 51 sites blocked during the 2022 World Cup, and Argentina placed it first on the February 2023 order. Today it is just one of many names in the list above.

What else do people call Fútbol Libre?

futbol libre, futbollibre, futbol libre tv, futbollibretv, futbol-libre and the reversed libre futbol. Domains add country endings such as .mx, .pe and .com.ar, or extras like futbollibrex.net and futbollibre-tv.org. None of them belongs to a known team.
