Footybite
Footybite was a football link directory, used mostly in the US and UK, that listed matches with streams hosted elsewhere and became a leading stand-in for Reddit's r/soccerstreams after 2019. US authorities seized footybite.to in June 2026; copies such as footybite.ac carry the name now.

No, the original is gone. Its main address, footybite.to, has displayed a US seizure notice since the opening round of Operation Offsides in June 2026. In May it had been forwarding visitors to footybite.do, and that domain stopped resolving by October.
The name is still busy, though. The copy most people land on is footybite.ac, registered in June 2026 through a privacy service and still loading a homepage that calls itself FootyBite Soccer Streams. footybite.today, footybite.football and footybite.gg carry the name as well, and nothing links any of them to the old team. A fallback on Iran's .ir ending, footybite.ir, shares its server with buffstreams.ir and sportsurge.ir. Our checker revisits every address at the top of this page daily and marks what came back.
Expect the list to keep shifting: US seizures took footybite.app and footybitez.app as recently as July 2026. For the match itself, pick a legal stream.
What Happened to Footybite
- Canal+ went to court in France against pirate sports streaming sites including footybite.co.
- A Paris court ordered Google, Cloudflare and Cisco to block pirate sites through their DNS resolvers; the list included footybite.cc, footybite.io and footybite.tv.
- footybite.io was among dozens of sports streaming domains taken over by the anti-piracy coalition ACE.
- US authorities seized more than 200 sports streaming domains, including footybite.dev, footybitehd.com and footybites.app.
- A Paris court ordered major VPN providers to block around 200 sports streaming domains; Footy Bite was among the brands named.
- UEFA's blocking order from the Delhi High Court listed footybite.to, which had several million visits a month.
- footybite.to, thefootybite.site and ifootybite.xyz were seized in the first wave of the US 'Operation Offsides' World Cup crackdown.
- Later waves took footybite.app and footybitez.app, while the fallback footybite.ir stayed online on Iranian nameservers.
Is Footybite Safe?
No. Footybite never played anything itself: each match came with a list of links to players run by other people, and the copies using the name today work the same way. Every link opens a different stranger's page with its own ad network, and nobody checks what those networks load.
Expect at least some of this along the way:
- a new tab or pop-up each time you tap the video
- fake play buttons laid over the real one
- requests to install a "video app" or a browser extension
- 18+ dating and adult ads
Some links go further: malware hidden in a download, a notification prompt that later fills your phone with fake virus alerts, or a form that wants a card number or a passport or ID photo to "unlock" the stream. If you gave a Footybite copy notification access, switch it off under Notifications in your browser settings; if you typed card details, call your bank today.
The match, minus the detours: watch it legally.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Is Footybite?
Footybite was a free, English-language football link directory, used mostly by fans in the US and UK. It listed upcoming matches with links underneath to streams hosted on other sites, and it hosted no video of its own. When Reddit's r/soccerstreams stopped sharing links in January 2019, many of its users switched to Footybite, and by early 2026 footybite.to drew several million visits a month. US authorities seized that domain in June 2026; the name now survives only on copies such as footybite.ac.
What happened to footybite.to?
US agents seized it when Operation Offsides, the crackdown on World Cup piracy, opened in June 2026, and a seizure notice has stood there since. People still type it in: that notice drew about 1.09 million visits in September 2026. Shortly before, footybite.to had been redirecting to footybite.do, which no longer resolves. footybite.is, which archived captures show pointing to footybite.to, belonged to the same operators.
Is footybite.ac the new Footybite?
Not in any way anyone can prove. footybite.ac was registered on 10 June 2026, the same month footybite.to was seized, with the owner hidden by a privacy registrant. Nothing on record connects footybite.ac with the team that ran footybite.to. The same is true of footybite.today, footybite.football and footybite.gg, which we test alongside it every day.
Why is Footybite blocked in so many countries?
Because the games behind its links were broadcast without permission from the leagues and channels that own them. Canal+ took footybite.co to court in France in 2023, LaLiga named Footybite and its alternative domains in 2024 in a list for the European Commission, and UEFA had footybite.to written into a Delhi High Court blocking order in February 2026. US seizures then took domains outright.
Is there a Footybite app?
No app from the original operators shows up in our records. footybite.app, footybites.app and footybitez.app were websites with an .app ending, and US authorities seized all three between February 2025 and July 2026. An APK or TV-box app using the name would come from someone you can't identify, which is how malware usually arrives. Every service in the row at the top has a real app.
What does Footybite have to do with Reddit?
Footybite owes much of its fame to Reddit. In January 2019 the r/soccerstreams community stopped sharing links after Reddit warned it about repeat copyright infringement, and Footybite, with a match list and stream links under each game, became one of the best-known places its users moved to. That's why "footybite reddit" is still a common search. The subreddit's story is on our Soccer Streams page.
Is Footybite connected to Buffstreams or Sportsurge?
Through one address, possibly. TorrentFreak found footybite.ir on the same server as buffstreams.ir and sportsurge.ir, and in July 2026 the Footybite fallback stayed online on Iranian nameservers while US seizures took other domains. A shared server hints at shared management, but no operator has been named. Each brand has its own page: Buffstreams and Sportsurge.
Does a VPN make Footybite safe?
No. A VPN changes how your traffic travels, not what a Footybite copy loads, so the pop-ups, fake buttons and card forms all still appear. It may not even open the page: French judges told big VPN companies in May 2025 to block Footy Bite, one of about 200 sports streaming names on their order. A VPN helps with real services: it keeps your home app working abroad, in up to 4K, or opens one from another country.
Where can Footybite users watch football now?
Footybite's crowd was mostly in the US and UK, so the Premier League and Champions League pages are good places to start. Each shows which channels and apps carry the games where you live, and at plenty of betting sites you can place a bet and watch the game.
Is footybite.soccer part of Footybite?
No. footybite.soccer is a guide to where matches are shown legally. It hosts no streams, links to none of the pirate domains and has no connection to whoever ran footybite.to. We list Footybite addresses without links, each marked with the latest result of our own daily test, so you can see what happened to every one before you choose where to watch.
What else do people call Footybite?
People type footy bite, footybites, footybyte and footy byte, or add a word, as in footybite soccer and footybite reddit. Addresses get searched directly too, mainly footybite.ac, footybite.to and footybite.is. Some try footybite.iz, which can't exist, since .iz is not a real domain ending. Every one of those searches ends at the copies listed above.
