Where to Watch the NHL in United States

Stream it. Games on ESPN also stream on ESPN's streaming service, and every TNT game, including its playoff rounds, streams on HBO Max. ABC broadcasts selected games free, so an antenna covers those. Between those services, you can follow the whole national schedule without a cable package.

Sportsnet is the main home, with the Monday and Saturday national games on TV and on Sportsnet+. Prime Video streams the Wednesday night games with English and French commentary, while TVA Sports has French-language coverage. With CBC gone from the NHL, the Saturday national games now belong to Sportsnet.

NHL.TV is the league's streaming package for out-of-market games. Outside the US and Canada it is sold through DAZN, which offers it in almost every country, so one subscription lets you follow any team through the regular season. In the UK and Ireland it works alongside Premier Sports, which keeps its own selection of games.

Premier Sports is the TV home, with up to 15 live games a week and the Stanley Cup playoffs. Those games are blacked out on NHL.TV, and the DAZN package fills in the rest of the schedule, so the two together cover every team. Weekend afternoon games in North America land in the British and Irish evening.

Yes. Sky Sport shows NHL games in Germany, Austria and Luxembourg, MySports has them in Switzerland, and DAZN sells NHL.TV for out-of-market games. German fans also get two regular-season games at home this season, when Chicago and Ottawa meet in Düsseldorf on December 18 and 20.

Yes. ESPN shows NHL games through Foxtel, Kayo Sports and Disney+, and selected games are free on Nine's 9Go! channel. Evening games in North America start in the late morning or early afternoon in Sydney, which makes Australia one of the easiest places in the world to watch the NHL live.

Most games start at 7 pm or 7:30 pm Eastern: midnight or a little after in London, 1 am or later in Berlin, with Pacific games even later. Saturday and Sunday afternoon games are the friendliest, landing in the European evening, and NHL.TV replays on DAZN cover the rest the next day.

In the US, ESPN and ABC take turns with TNT, and 2027 is TNT's year, so the Final streams on HBO Max. Sportsnet has it in Canada, and Premier Sports shows the playoffs in the UK and Ireland. The Final is a best-of-seven series played in June, after three earlier playoff rounds.

Eighty-four, two more than the usual 82, which makes this the longest NHL regular season in more than 30 years. It runs to April 10, 2027, and then 16 teams reach the Stanley Cup playoffs, four rounds of best-of-seven series that finish in June.

HBO Max, Sportsnet+ and DAZN check where you are, and some stop showing games once you cross a border. A VPN fixes this by sending your traffic through your home country first, so your subscription carries on as normal. NordVPN's NordLynx protocol is built for speed, which matters in a sport where the puck moves this fast.
