How to Watch the NPFL on YouTube in 2026/27
The NPFL is Nigeria's top division: 20 clubs meeting home and away in a season that starts in late summer and finishes around June. Enyimba, Kano Pillars, Rangers International, Rivers United and Remo Stars are among the best-known names, and the clubs at the top of the table qualify for the CAF Champions League.
For 2026/27 the league has found a new way to reach supporters. In August 2026 it signed a YouTube partnership with Murphy Ben International (MBI), and selected matches now stream live and free, in HD, on both the NPFL and MBI channels. Several other games from each matchday go up as delayed broadcasts, so fixtures that were not picked for live coverage can still be watched later.
Because YouTube works almost everywhere, the same streams reach Nigerians in Lagos, London, Houston and Toronto alike. There is no paid TV deal in our listings either, which makes the NPFL one of the simplest African leagues to follow from abroad: nothing to subscribe to, no decoder, just a phone or a smart TV with YouTube installed.
Most matches kick off in the afternoon on West Africa Time (UTC+1), which Nigeria keeps all year. If you also bet on football, the betting sites guide shows which Nigerian bookmakers stream live games once you place a bet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I watch NPFL matches live?
On YouTube. Selected games stream live and free on the NPFL channel and on the MBI channel, under the league's 2026/27 deal with Murphy Ben International. You do not need a TV package or a paid app, only an internet connection and a screen of your choice.
Is the NPFL free to watch?
Yes. The YouTube streams cost nothing, in Nigeria and abroad, and they come in HD. The only real cost is data: an HD match on mobile can use a lot of it, so pick a lower quality in the YouTube player whenever you are away from Wi-Fi.
Is every NPFL game shown live?
No. Selected matches get live coverage each matchday, while several other fixtures are uploaded as delayed broadcasts on the same YouTube channels. If your club's game is not among the live picks, check the NPFL channel later that day for the delayed broadcast.
Can I watch the NPFL from the UK or the US?
Yes. The NPFL and MBI YouTube channels play worldwide, so fans in London, Houston, Toronto or Dubai see the same live games as fans in Lagos. There is no foreign TV deal to hunt for, and you do not need a VPN to reach the streams.
What time do NPFL games kick off for fans abroad?
Matches are played on West Africa Time (UTC+1). That is an hour ahead of London in winter and level with it in summer, five or six hours ahead of New York depending on daylight saving, and two hours behind Nairobi. Most games are afternoon kick-offs in Nigeria.
How do I watch NPFL streams on a TV?
Open YouTube on a smart TV, Android TV box or games console and search for the NPFL channel, or cast the stream from your phone to a Chromecast or a TV with casting built in. Subscribing to the channel and turning on notifications alerts you when a match goes live.
Who are Murphy Ben International?
MBI is the Lagos-based media company that partnered with the NPFL in August 2026 for YouTube streaming. Under the deal it supports production and distribution, and it runs its own YouTube channel, where selected NPFL matches stream alongside the league's channel.
How many teams play in the NPFL?
Twenty clubs play a double round-robin, so each side faces every other team home and away over 38 matchdays. The bottom clubs drop to the Nigeria National League, and the top finishers qualify for CAF competitions the following season.
Can I bet on NPFL matches and watch at the same time?
The bet-and-watch box on this page names Nigerian bookmakers such as Bet9ja, BetKing and SportyBet that stream live football once you place a bet. Which leagues each one shows changes from week to week, so for NPFL games the free YouTube streams remain the most reliable option. 18+.
